Comments on: Clothes Dryer Chicken Coop https://kk.org/streetuse/clothes-dryer-chicken-coop/ This site features the ways in which people modify and re-create technology. Herein a collection of personal modifications, folk innovations, street customization, ad hoc alterations, wear-patterns, home-made versions and indigenous ingenuity. In short -- stuff as it is actually used, and not how its creators planned on it being used. As William Gibson said, "The street finds its own uses for things." I welcome suggestions of links, and contributions from others to include in this compendium. -- KK Fri, 10 Apr 2009 03:52:07 +0000 hourly 1 https://wordpress.org/?v=5.9.12 By: @frugalforlife https://kk.org/streetuse/clothes-dryer-chicken-coop/#comment-62006 Mon, 30 Nov -0001 00:00:00 +0000 #comment-62006 I love this type of recycling, very original.

He has been pinning away for a coop that would hold more birds that is about $1200. I loved showing him the cheaper alternative. Thanks for the photo

The biggest challenge is keeping those chickens safe from predators, and I do not think a fox could get into that clothes dryer if her wanted to! Like a safe for your chickens! I assume they can breathe in there….It could be made so much cuter also.

I made a recessionary chicken coop myself back in June from an old wooden box(pallet size) Will post photos soon on you tube, tell me what you think? Reply with your email address and I’ll tell you when it is up there for viewing. We have four hens ourselves and they supply us with 28 eggs a week!

I’m in the process of making a grow out coop/broody pen and I used pallets for the frame. I just need to finish the roof which I will be making using 2 pallets and then I’m gonna use tin to cover it all up. I love this you’ve done an excellent job 🙂
